Settle into island life, enjoy the warm Polynesian hospitality and prepare for your upcoming luxury cruise aboard Le Paul Gauguin.
Embarkation aboard Le Paul Gauguin
Capital of French Polynesia, the city of Papeete is on the north-west coast of the island of Tahiti. You’ll find a relaxed atmosphere here, where urban buzz combines with the legendary laid-back Polynesian lifestyle. Culture is not lacking. You can enjoy sites narrating the history of the archipelago, including the colonial cathedral and the Maison de la reine Marau. The Vaipahi public gardens will win you over by their abundant plant-life. The large municipal market offers local specialities: fresh fruit, spices and all kinds of fish abound on their stalls.
Located less than 200 kilometres north-west of Tahiti, Huahine Island is a secret gem in French Polynesia. You’ll love the mysterious atmosphere emanating from its voluptuous contours, its wild vegetation and stunning remote creeks. If you explore both parts of the island, La Grande Huahine to the north and La Petite Huahine to the south will reveal some of its hidden treasures, as well as archaeological remains from the Polynesian past. You can meet the local population in the main town of Fare, or in the string of villages along the coast.
During your journey at sea, make the most of the many services and activities on board. Treat yourself to a moment of relaxation in the spa or stay in shape in the fitness centre. Depending on the season, enjoy the swimming pool or a spot of sunbathing. This journey without a port of call is also an opportunity to enjoy onboard conferences, shows and entertainment, browse the boutique or meet the photographers in their dedicated space. Lovers of the open sea can admire the spectacular ocean views from the upper deck and perhaps spot marine life along the way.
Aitutaki is a little island of 16 km², with a small fishing port where a simple and peaceful life endures. During your visit, don’t miss the opportunity to discover its magnificent lagoon, reputed as one of the most beautiful and spectacular in the world. Snorkelling fans will discover the treasures of underwater life, while local artisans showcase black pearls, colourful sarongs and traditional tivaevae quilting, treasured for their craftsmanship.
You will be dazzled by the magnificent volcanic silhouette of Rarotonga, the largest of the Cook Islands. Perfectly circular and surrounded by a coral reef, the island offers a breathtaking combination of lush mountains, turquoise waters and rich Polynesian heritage. Discover its vibrant culture, abundant nature and traditional way of life as you explore this beautiful South Pacific paradise.
Enjoy another day at sea aboard Le Paul Gauguin. Relax in the spa, take part in onboard activities, attend informative talks and entertainment, or simply admire the beauty of the Pacific Ocean from the ship’s upper deck.
Paradisiacal atoll of the archipelago of the Leeward Islands, west of French Polynesia, mythical Bora Bora offers a natural spectacle of captivating beauty. You’ll be won over as much by the white sandy beaches as by its famous lagoon, one of the most beautiful in the world, where colourful fish frolic in waters of incomparable turquoise. The island is covered with tropical vegetation and dominated by the majestic outline of Mount Otemanu. A promenade through this volcanic landscape will enable you to discover villages and meet local communities.
Feet in the sand, on the islet of Motu Mahana, our sumptuous little private paradise, you will share a very special experience around an authentic traditional Polynesian barbecue. A true jewel in the Taha’a lagoon, Motu Mahana offers an idyllic setting of turquoise waters and tropical beauty. Discover the volcanic island of Taha’a, known for its fertile landscapes, fragrant vanilla plantations and the cultivation of the famous black pearls of French Polynesia.
A part of the Windward Islands archipelago just west of Tahiti, famous Moorea will leave you with unforgettable memories. Bask on heavenly beaches, swim in the turquoise lagoon and admire the island’s lush vegetation and fragrant tropical flowers. A visit to the Moorea Belvedere offers exceptional views of Mount Rotui, Opunohu Bay and Cook’s Bay, surrounded by dramatic volcanic peaks.
